On Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, the event titled “Smart Literacy Collaboration: Tools for Scientific Writing” was held. It was attended by 50 undergraduate and doctoral students from various departments.
The event was hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business Library’s Reading Ambassador, Gusti Ayu Radeni Citra, who served as the Master of Ceremony. The program began with an opening prayer, followed by the Indonesian national anthem, the Diponegoro University March, opening remarks, and the main session.The opening remarks from the Dean, Prof. Dr. Harjum Muharam, S.E., M.E., were delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. Afterward, the event was officially opened and followed by a group photo session. The main presentation was delivered by Mr. Pujo Winarno, S.Kom., a librarian from the UNDIP Library and Press Unit. The training focused on the use of reference management tools, specifically Zotero and Mendeley, to support scientific writing.During the session, participants were guided to download and install Zotero, including its browser extension. They then practiced using Zotero to search for scientific articles and learned how to insert citations and create bibliographies directly in Microsoft Word. The speaker also explained how to use different citation styles such as APA and Vancouver. The session continued with an introduction to Mendeley. Although Mendeley has some limitations with Windows 365, the speaker explained how to connect it with Microsoft Word. After the presentation, the event continued with a Q&A session, followed by a hands-on practice using Mendeley. Participants were very enthusiastic and actively engaged throughout the session until the event concluded at 12:30 p.m.
